Solution Look at the fraction carefully.

Step 1:

Solution Simply subtract the numerators of the fractions and the denominators do not change i.e.

Step 2:

7/5 - 3/5 = 4/5

Solution The answer is: 4/5

Step 3:

When denominators are not same:

7 5/6 - 2 3/12

Change the denominator to be the same by multiplying the numerator and

denominator by the same number to make both fractions have

the same denominator and subtract the whole numbers separately i.e.

7 - 2= 5

Here in above fraction, we multiply both numerator and denominator of

first fraction by 2 i.e.

10/12 - 3/12 = 7/12

The answer is: 5 7/12
