                                                            Problem:                   There are fifty employees at one company. Two fifth are officers. How

many employees are clerk? 

 

                                                            Solution                    Read the problem carefully

Step 1:                                   

                                      

Solution                    Multiply the total number by the fraction to get total number of officers.

Step 2:                                    50 x 2/5 = 20 officers

                                                                                                                                Subtract the number of girls from the total to get the number of clerks.

                                                                                                            50-20= 30 clerks

 

                                                             Solution                    The answer is:  30 clerks
