Mean Median Mode And Range Worksheet |
|
Lesson 1 |
Problem:
Calculate the mean, median, mode
and range for the data set.
Data Set: 2, 7, 8, 4, 7, 2, 5, 31, 14, 31 ,22
Solution The range is lowest value (2) and
highest value (31) in the set.
Step 1: So the range is (2-31).
Solution
Mean = (Total of all observations) / # of observations.
Step 2:
So the mean = (2+7+8+4+7+2+5+31+14+31+22)/11 = 12.1
| Step 3: |
| Median is the value of observation which divides the data distribution equal half of into two parts. Half of the observations are above it and half of observations are below it. |
So the median is 9/2= 4.5
Solution
Mode is that value which occurs most often.
Step 4:
2 appear the most.
Solution
Mean = 12.1 Median = 4.5
Mode =
2 Range = 2-31
Try two practice problems:
1. Calculate the mean, median, mode and range for the data set.
Data Set: 2, 5, 6, 3, 8, 4,5, 6, 10, 4, 3 ,
2. Calculate the mean, median, mode and range for the data set.
Data Set: 2, 5, 2, 7, 4, 2, 8, 12, 5, 4,10,11
