                    Lesson 1

Problem:     Determine the parallel lines and intersecting lines.

Step 1:      Parallel lines are lines that never intersect. The distance between the two lines is fixed and two lines are going in the same direction. Lines SG and DF are parallel to each other.

Step 2: Intersecting lines are lines that meet at a point. When two lines intersect, they define angles at the point of intersection.

Step 3:     Perpendicular lines are those which make  90 degree angle between them. AJ is Perpendicular to the lines DF and SG.  

                        Try two practice problems:                                                          

                                             Determine which lines are parallel and intersecting lines.
