Problem:                   Find the area of the figure with the given dimensions.

SH=LA=BG=2CM

ML=HH1=3CM

SL=4CM

JL=SH=2CM

Solution                    Area of rectangle XFBG= FG x BG = 3x2 = 6 sq. cm

Step 1:                        Area of rectangle MLAX= ML x LA = 3x2 = 6 sq. cm

                                                            Solution                    Area of rectangle SHDH1= HH1 x SH = 3x2 = 6 sq. cm

Step 2:                       Area of rectangle = JL x SL = 4x2 = 8 sq. cm

Solution                    Total area=  6 + 6 + 6 +8 = 24 sq cm

Step 3:     

Solution                    The answer is:  24 sq.cm
