                                  Problem:      At a Birthday party the girls ate 3/10 of the pizzas and boys ate 41 /5 of the pizzas.

                             How many pizzas were eaten in all? 

                                                         

                                  Solution:      Girls ate 3/10 pizzas and Boys ate 41/5 pizzas.

                                  Step 1:        

 

                                  Solution:      Given Fractions = 3/10 and 41/5

                                  Step 2:        

                                   

                                  Solution:      Change 3/10 into its equivalent fraction with 10 as denominator

                                  Step 3:         

 

                                  Solution:      3/10 + 41/5 = 3/10 + 41/10 = 3+41 / 10             

                                  Step 4:        

                                               

                                                          Solution:      44 /10

                                  Step 5:         

                                                            

                                  Solution:      Answer: 22/5 of the pizzas

                                  Step 6:         

                                  Complete
