Subtraction Principle Worksheet

Problem:                   Find value of the variable.

b + 5 = 17

Step 1: If we add or subtract both sides by same number, balance is maintained.

                                                            Step 2:                    We subtract 5 both sides, b remains unchanged

= b + 5 - 5 = 17 - 5

= b = 12                                                                

Step 3:                    The answer is:  12
