Graphing Inequalities

                     Lesson 1

Problem:     Graph:  y > 6x - 8

x	0	1	2
y	-8	-2	4

Solution       Put “=” in place of “>” : y = 6x - 8

                                                            Step 1:                         

Solution        Assume values of x and find out value of y.

Step 2:         

Solution        Show all three points (x, y) on the graph.

Step 3:            Draw line a solid if the inequality is  < or >

                                                            Solution  If the point makes the inequality true, shade that side of the line. 

                                                            Step 4:

                                                            Solution       If the point does not make the inequality true, shade the   opposite side of the line.

                                                            Step 5:
