                                                             Problem:    The person is 6 m tall casts a shadow on the ground 12 m.

                                                                                    At what angle do the rays of the sun hit the ground?

 

                                                            Solution      tan 12 = y / 6    

                                                            Step 1:                        

                           

                                                            Solution      0.2 = y /6

                                                            Step 2:                                                                                                        

                            

                                                            Solution      y = 0.2 x 6

Step 3:                     

  

                                                            Solution      Answer: 1.2
