Power Word Problems

                    Lesson 1

Problem:                   Write an expression for the volume of a cubical stand that has:

4p width, 6p length, and 5p height.

Solution                    Volume of a cube = width x length x height

Step 1:                       

Solution = 4p x 6p x 5p

Step 2:                        

Solution = 120p³

Step 3:           

                                                             Solution                    The answer is:  120p³

                                                            Try two practice problems:  

Do the following:

A.	Write an expression for the volume of a cubical toy that has a 2p width, 5p length and 4p height.
B.	3p and 6p are the height and width of Table A, and 5p and 2p are the length and width of Table B. Write the expression for Table A - Table B.
